Dr Raaj Chandra, MBBS BMed Sci FRACS MEd

Raaj is an experienced Colorectal Surgeon specialising in minimally invasive surgery for colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease as well as endoscopic procedures and perianal disease. He underwent medical training at the University of Tasmania. Following this, he served in the Royal Australian Air Force as a full time Medical Officer. He then embarked upon advanced general surgical and trauma training at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. He has completed further subspecialty training comprising three years of post Fellowship training in colorectal surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Geelong Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital and is a member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ).

He holds public positions at both the Royal Melbourne and Box Hill Hospitals. He also consults privately at Epworth Eastern. He also has a keen interest in the education of medical students, junior doctors and senior trainees. Raaj is an active participant in research and has published widely.
